This webinar will redefine cultural competence and show how it is helpful for changing path dependent, help-seeking patterns, particularly, among groups of color. Path dependence explains how the decisions one faces is limited by the decisions one has made in the past, even though past circumstances may no longer be relevant.  This applies to the development and persistence of institutions, as well as, social, political, or personal decisions.  Help-seeking patterns among people of color will be discussed and scenarios for positive changes will be explored.
